Samsung has released an update to its Galaxy Connect app, which brings it to version 2.1.6.0. The update extends compatibility from Samsung’s own Galaxy Book laptops to any Windows 11 PC running Intel or AMD x64 processors. This enables Galaxy smartphone users with third-party laptops from brands like Lenovo, ASUS, and Dell to access the same cross-device continuity features that were previously limited to Samsung hardware.
The app can be found on the Microsoft Store. To use it, users need to sign in with the same Samsung account on both their Galaxy phone and their Windows 11 PC.
What does Galaxy Connect do and which PCs are compatible
Galaxy Connect offers several Continuity features that seamlessly connect Samsung Galaxy phones with Windows PCs. Users can easily copy and paste between devices, access phone storage directly from a PC, and continue their browsing across devices by syncing open web pages. Additionally, this feature allows Galaxy phones to serve as a secondary display for a PC.
Extended compatibility is limited to Intel and AMD x64-based Windows 11 devices. ARM-based PCs, including PCs using Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors, are not supported in version 2.1.6.0. Samsung has not announced whether ARM support may be added in a future update.
Previously, Galaxy Connect was only available on Galaxy Book laptops, which limited its use to a small group of Galaxy phone owners. The latest update extends these features to a wider range of Windows 11 devices that meet hardware requirements.
